The Church of the Holy Rood is a Church that is part of the world wide Anglican family that is the Church of England. The Church serves the Parish of Edwalton, which is in the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham where our mother Church, the Southwell Minster is located.

We are one of 311 churches, and one of 256 parishes in the Diocese.

The Southwell and Nottingham Diocese is part of the Northern Province of the Church of England whose mother Church is the York Minster.

Southwell Minster

Southwell Minster became the Cathedral Church of the Diocese in 1884. As the Cathedral Church of Nottinghamshire it seeks to serve diverse communities from the farms of the Dukeries in the north, with mining and ex-mining towns, and in the south the colourful city of Nottingham with its industry, universities and teaching hospitals of international repute.
